My tiny house will be built on a 7’x 16′ steel frame trailer, with dual mobile home axles. If you include the loft, the square footage is around 170 square feet.
The framing is done with rough-cut hemlock instead of nominal-sized spruce or pine like you would purchase from the hardware store.
I am working on procuring as many free, salvaged, or otherwise cheap materials as I can.
My goal is to keep the total budget for this project under $5,000. As of right now, my estimated total cost is around $4,300. By purchasing through wholesalers, bargain hunting, and doing as much work as I can by myself, I believe I can make a high-quality tiny house on wheels for far less than most other DIYers.
This is the floor plan I made when I started my plans. I’ve yet to expand more on my interior; this was just the rough plan I made in order to be able to plan out basic plumbing and electric.
